The Dawn Riders!!

Maria Behm
 Professional Singer/Entertainer

My Story: Singing and memorizing songs since I was 8 years old. I had a fondness for the old time country hits. For most of my singing career I have sung songs from the 40's,50', ad 60's.   I have  performed as a solo for over 20 years and after using a few back-up bands I decided to form my own band.  I love ballads, as "they always tell a story".

My fans would often ask me why I never had my own band as they would love to come and sit and enjoy a show.  Expressing a desire to hear this era of fine old time classic country music.
It was always a dream of mine to form a fantastic SHOW and SPECIAL EVENTS band that shared the same desire and love of the Old Time Classic Country Music and then I found these fabulous musicians one by one.

With their individual years of experience and fondness for this particular style and dress we have formed the "DAWN RIDERS".

Troy Gold                                   "Captain Troy"
Professional Bass Player
Troy  comes to us from Jackson, California.  He is an expert Bass, Acoustic guitar and banjo player.  He has been playing for approximately 50 years.

His Story:
"I was born in Lodi Ca. and have lived in Amador County for 54 years.  I was inspired to play the guitar by my father. He and his brothers had a band in Toulume and they played over the "first radio station in Stockton", performing country and western hits.  Playing for dancers at the Big Tree Stump up at BIG TREES National Park, that was once used for a dance floor. He loved playing "The Dark Town Studders Ball" and "The Shade of the Old Apple Tree" and "I didn't know that God made Honky Tonk Angles"
I played bass guitar in a country band (Ridge Runners) for 8 years, 1972 to 1980. Played places like Amador County Fair, Clements Stamped, Galt Rodeo, Lodi Grape Festival among other venues.
My personal favorite artists are of course Merle Haggard,
Randy Travis, Hank Williams, Sr. Hank Snow, Ernest Tubb and many of the other great Classic Country Artists."
